The performance of pad printing ink requires the following printability:

 

  • Suitable drying rate. Generally speaking, pad printing ink is a fast-drying ink mainly based on volatilization and drying. However, there are two types of pad printing ink: slow drying and fast drying. That is, generally, the fast-drying pad printing ink is used when the print is dried within 2-5s, and the slow-drying pad printing ink is used when the print is dried above 5s.

 

  • Good drinking ability. This drinking ability refers to the deinking ability of the pad printing ink on the pad printing head, that is, the ability of the ink to transfer from the pad printing head to the substrate. Of course, it is also related to the deinking ability of the pad printing head.

 

  • Good ink adhesion. Because of the wide range of pad printing and the variety of printing materials, the pad printing ink is required to have good adhesion to different printing materials. In addition, as a pad printing ink, it is also required not to corrode the pad printing head and plate. Therefore, the solvents used in mobile ink are usually butyl acetate, cyclohexanone, and turpentine.

Indirect pad printing

 

Indirect transfer printing is a printing method for those printing materials that are not suitable for printing on the surface of the direct printing machine, such as some planar, three-dimensional, curved, and other materials and their products, which must be printed through a transition carrier before transferring the image to other printing materials. There are many indirect transfer printing methods, including decal printing, thermal transfer printing, thermal transfer printing, pressure transfer printing, and self-adhesive trademark printing. The printing methods on this transitional transfer body include lithography, embossing, and gravure printing. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of screen printing technology, the increase of the variety of screen printing materials, and the improvement of equipment, a transfer printing technology using the screen printing method has emerged, providing more printing methods for indirect transfer printing, which has undoubtedly been greatly expanded; Scope of application of transfer printing. In addition to the printing and dyeing silk screen technology that can be directly printed on the surface of fabric fiber products, to improve the printing effect and increase the stereoscopic sense of the image, there are many other thermal transfer printing methods, such as sublimation disperse dyeing transfer, melting transfer, film removal transfer, etc. Heat transfer printing is mostly applied to the transfer of trademarks or images of fiber products, such as clothing, shoes, hats, and bags. The substrate material of heat transfer printing is paper (or film) coated with a release agent. This paper has a certain adsorption capacity for ink, more importantly, it has a certain deinking capacity, and can withstand a temperature of about 150 ℃.

 

First, choose printing methods according to different requirements, such as embossing, lithography, gravure printing, and screen printing, any of which can be used. Then make corresponding plates and use heat transfer paper (or film) on the printing machine for monochrome or multi-color printing. After printing, apply a layer of heat transfer adhesive for standby. During transfer printing, the transfer paper printed and coated with heat transfer adhesive is closely connected with the textile on the transfer machine. Under the temperature of 150-170 ℃, the pressure of 0.1-0.25Kgf/c ㎡ (g.8-24.5KPa), and the hot pressing of 5-10s, the printed pattern can be transferred from the paper surface to the fabric and firmly attached to the fabric.
