How to Distinguish the Quality of Thermal Sublimation Transfer Paper?
August 12,2022
Everyone must know thermal sublimation printing paper, so what kind of thermal sublimation transfer paper is good? Now let's take a look.
Transfer rate
Transfer rate is a basic property of transfer paper, which is the characteristic of ordinary ink-jet paper. A good transfer rate can make the color of the transferred object more colorful and save ink.
Ink compatibility
As a transfer paper manufacturer, the transfer paper produced should adapt to various transfer inks as much as possible, so that the solubility of the transfer paper coating to various sublimation inks is appropriate so that the ink pattern can be delicately reflected on the transfer paper without penetrating the coating on the base paper, resulting in low transfer rate.
Drying speed
The fast drying speed makes it convenient to use, which can facilitate continuous printing and improve the delivery speed. Printing speed is also a parameter for transfer paper manufacturers to track the increasing printing speed of printers.
Warpage and warpage time
Transfer paper is a kind of coated paper. If the expansion and contraction ratio of the coated layer and the base paper is not consistent under dry and high temperatures, it will cause single-sided warpage.
The products produced by various transfer paper factories at home and abroad have different degrees of warpage. The warpage angle of the transfer paper with excellent quality is small and the warpage is slow, which can meet the flatness and time requirements of the printing and transfer production process, and it is easy to operate.
It is a difficult problem for transfer paper manufacturers to overcome warpage. Adopting a double-sided coating method can effectively improve warpage, but this will increase production costs. However, most domestic transfer paper production equipment often does not have such conditions, and can only improve from coating formula and production process.
Print wrinkle wiping nozzle
Inkjet transfer paper requires that the paper surface wrinkle be as small as possible. If the wrinkle is serious during printing, the paper will likely arch up and rub the nozzle, especially when the paper surface roughness is large, the wiping nozzle is more likely to damage the delicate nozzle.
The main way to reduce the wrinkle of transfer paper is to start with the base paper. When the base paper is wrinkled, the coating and printing wrinkle will be small. The second is to improve the coating formula to reduce the wrinkle.
Nanomaterials are selected for the coating formulation of transfer paper to ensure that the surface smoothness of transfer paper is more than 3 seconds and will not damage the nozzle.
Paper impurity spots
The spots (impurity spots) on the surface of the transfer paper are an important indicator of the transfer paper. These spots may arise from the base paper, the coating, or the production process. The spots seriously harm the large-area solid color printing but have little impact on the fancy printing. There are spots in domestic transfer paper.
